Specialist in preventing sexual harassment, aggression, bullying, and procedural justice failures
Sexual harassment, aggression, bullying, and procedural justice are now regulated under WHS Codes of Practice in NSW and Qld. Compliance is mandatory, but a proactive approach is essential. I also address toxic culture and sexual assault — hazards not yet listed in the Codes but proven to drive risk, harm, and liability.
Compliance isn’t enough — proactive control is essential.
I help organisations prevent sexual harassment, aggression, bullying, and procedural justice failures before they cause harm.

Can you guarantee zero psychological harm in your organisation?
No. As detailed in my August White Paper Edition, analysis of 47 significant Australian cases predicts that psychological and psychosocial harm claims occur across all industries, demonstrating that it is impossible to fully eliminate psychological harm—regardless of sector. In addition, my white paper confirms that claims arising from psychosocial hazards —such as bullying, harassment (including sexual harassment), aggression, procedural justice failures, toxic culture, and sexual assault— consistently lead to substantial financial liability, with real impact on reputation and social license to operate.
More realities of psychological harm.
Workplace psychological harm is unpredictable and impossible to eradicate. Incidents arise from a complex web involving the experience of individual behaviours, organisational systems, and cultural pressures. These factors are often beyond the reach of any single psychological assessment tool because of individual experience is so complex and unique. Even with clinical expertise, psychological harm assessments can be subjective, open to interpretation, and sometimes disputed, potentially causing additional distress. No model or method can capture the full scope and nuance of psychological harm in the modern workplace. The business impact is significant, with psychological injury claims among the most costly for employers.
The financial consequences are significant:
The latest Queensland workers' compensation scheme statistics show psychological and psychiatric claims accounted for $230.9 million in statutory payments in 2023–24, with an average cost of over $63,000 per claim—more than twice that of other injuries.
Comcare’s scheme licensee data for 2024–25 reports the average workers’ compensation claim for primary psychological injury at $31,611 per claim, notably higher than the all-injury average of $20,368. Some psychological claims involving violence or assault exceed $40,000 per claim.
What do regulators and courts expect?
They don’t expect perfection—but they do require hard evidence that your business has taken all practicable steps to systematically prevent and control risks, not just react after people are harmed.
